The Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace is a French aerospace museum at the south-eastern edge of Paris–Le Bourget Airport, north of Paris. Inaugurated in 1919 on a proposal by aeronautical engineer Albert Caquot, it is one of the oldest aviation museums in the world, with some 150 aircraft among almost 20,000 items. Highlights include the Concorde prototype and an Air France Concorde, Ariane 1 and Ariane 5, the Soyuz T-6 capsule of France’s first astronaut, and a 1916 SPAD VII flown by World War I ace Georges Guynemer.
